The parent company of SBS Construction has purchased an office warehouse at 38418 Airline Hwy. in Prairieville for $429,000, or about $85 per square foot, with plans to renovate and occupy the building. The building had been occupied for over 10 years by HMT Tank Services before the company relocated to a larger facility on La. 30. “The building had a total of about 5,000 square feet, and it was a little heavy with office space. There was about 3,000 square feet of office space and only about 2,000 square feet of warehouse,” says Scot Guidry of Mike Falgoust & Associates Commercial Real Estate, who represented the seller, Joel Artenstein, along with Chris Pike. The building occupied a 3/4 acre site and the yard was stabilized.  “Buildings this size with a stabilized yard are hard to find, so the fact that this one had some made it attractive to the purchaser,” Guidry says. The purchaser, Schifmor Development LP, was represented by Mark Hebert of Kurz & Hebert Commercial Real Estate.
